Please describe for which use cases you want to use SC or for which you have already used it.

During Corona, we were faced with the problem that the editorial team was working in a home office and had an insufficient internet connection.
As a result, the client view did not run smoothly.
Often only small things had to be adjusted, which the untrained eye could not immediately recognize on a PC monitor.

To get around this problem, we connected the monitor signal via SDI to an AVID breakout and streamed the conference via teams.
This allowed us to do a Review with a before and after view.
However, it was then also necessary for the colorist to be there and explain what was happening.
With Shot Compare, the editorial team can independently review the grading and give feedback. This means that the first part of the show can be graded without affecting the colorist’s working time.
Working in parallel saves time and the client can give more specific feedback.

Ah, so you mean now there is no more need for a Review Live Session?

Basically, a bit like that. So all the trades are independent, right? Even if SC is more for cinematic applications, where you have more time for individual scenes and more attention to details.

Client review has become more important in recent years. Every tool that supports the client in this process provides the service provider with a bonus, because it enables him to better fulfill the client’s wishes. Here ShotCompare brings an advantage and covers the wishes of demanding clients particularly well. Conversely, the contractor gets another tool to better showcase his performance.

Yes, definitely. Above all, you have the advantage of flexible time allocation. The customer can look at it when he wants or has time for it. The colorist doesn’t have to sit there (paid in case of doubt) and wait for the customer to be ready.
